Indonesia's Patrol has updated its popular Patrol E-Six eMTB with the recently launched Shimano EP8. Perhaps not as well known as other mountain bike brands around the world, Patrol is a major force in its home market and with close links to major brands are able to be among the first manufactures to get hold of the new EP8.
The 2021 E-Six uses an all-alloy frame with 150mm of travel on the rear and 160mm at the opposite end. Patrol developed the E-Six as a 29er eMTB and ships the E-Six with complete Shimano drivetrains, Fox Suspension and a mix of own-brand kit.
Two build options are available both fitted with the same EP8 motor, matching alloy frames and custom Patrol/SMP 640Wh internal battery.
The standard Partorl E-Six uses Shimano SLX for the 12-speed drivetrain, with Shimano's MT40 4 piston brakes covering the brakes. Wheels use SUN Ringle rims built on Shimano SLX hubs while the suspension package gets a chunky Fox 38 E and Fox Float DPX2.
Riders wanting more bling for their buck, can take a look at the flagship Patrol E-Six S, this time built with a complete Shimano XT 12-speed drivetrain, Magura MT5N brakes and Fox Factory suspension. Kashima coated components include the Fox 38 E Factory, Transfer dropper post and DPX2 rear shock.
